Household Cleaning Supplies

How much do you spend monthly on household cleaning supplies? $50-100 a month is the average. Here are the recipes for the most used cleaning products that is a cheaper and healthier way to lower the cost and clean the house without the toxins in the commercial cleaning products. Best of all they work beautifully.

Household Cleaning Supplies

Homemade Window Cleaner
2 cups rubbing alcohol
2 cups Vinegar
4 cups water
Combine all ingredients put in spray bottle marked windows cleaner, store refill in jar, clearly marked.

All Purpose Cleaners
¼ cup Dish Soap
2 cups Vinegar
2 cups rubbing Alcohol
2 cups water
Mix all ingredients, put in spray bottle marked All-purpose cleaner. The rubbing alcohol is a superb disinfectant.

Natural Scouring Scrub
2 cups baking soda
½ cup vinegar
This is a powerhouse cleaning mix for any surface such as sinks, tubs, toilets; it can be used anywhere you would typically use a soft scrub or comet.

Homemade Dish Soap:
1 cup soap flakes or soap shavings (any bar soap)
8 cups water
¼ cup lemon juice (bottled lemon juice works wonderful here)
Pour water and soap flakes into sturdy pan on stove, heat slowly until all soap flakes or shavings are melted into the water. Take off soap, add lemon juice.

Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap
I bar of Ivory soap (grated)
2 cups Washing Soda
2 cups borax powder
1 quarts water (4 gallons)
5 gallon bucket with lid
Grate soap and add to 1 quart water on stove, heat until all the soap melts, add the baking soda and the borax until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour into 5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons room temperature water. Let soap sit for about 24 hours to form a water gel texture to it. You use ½ cup for a conventional large capacity washer.

Fabric Softener
4 cups borax
8 cups washing soda
4 gallons water
Mix the contents thoroughly, completely dissolving the powder into the water.
Add 1 cup softener to your laundry when you would normally add your regular detergent.
